Explore the World of FOODNOUNS
FOODNOUNS has admired the way NounsDAO governance has been run and has seen the impact specific Proposals within the NounsDAO have had on the project overall. In honor of the success of Proposal 17 and its continued success through Proposal 45, FOODNOUNS sees the importance of Community Contributors.
Here below is a revised version the Proposal 17 outline as we felt it perfectly matched with the types of individuals we hope to invite within the FOODNOUNS DAO internal daily operations.
FOODNOUNS has the opportunity to fund a marketer, designer, engineer, and community lead in residency to help push forward day-to-day efforts. Scope for these contributions is considered open-ended, and will be defined on a monthly cadence with the input of the FOODNOUNDERS & the community. This proposal seeks to bring on individuals with deep interest in the Nouns & FOODNOUNS ecosystem, and a proven track record of delivering value on short timelines & at an early stage.
The Residency Pilot Program is designed to be modular and able to grow as the Treasury grows. Additional candidates will be added. The first proposed round of FOODNOUNS Residency would be for one initial position. This modest approach will allow for appropriate resource management.
As part of their original contributions, the FOODNOUNDERS built foodnouns.wtf, home to daily FOODNOUNS auctions, governance, an exploratory playground, and details of the project and its motivations. Given the rapid increase in interest and usage of the Nouns products, we propose bringing on world-class design & engineering resourcing to help iterate on the future of foodouns.wtf.
FOODNOUNDERS remain involved in varying capacities in day-to-day community affairs, but the demands of the role are non-trivial and critical to the success of any DAO. We propose bringing on a talented community lead who will help strengthen the sense of shared purpose within the FOODNOUNS community.
Scope for these contributors will be defined on an on-going basis with input from FOODNOUNDERS, FOODNOUN owners, the Kitchen Nouncil and the greater FOODNOUNS community. Contributors will be expected to communicate their deliverables & timelines in a public manner at least once per month.
For the design & engineering roles, the initial set of scope includes maintenance and improvements to Nouns.wtf. For the community role, contributions include (but are not limited to) scheduling & leading community calls, internal & external communications, Discord management, and onboarding of new DAO members. For the marketing roles, contributions includes (but are not limited to) media reach out & scheduling, brand book development, influencer outreach, campaign creation and implementation.
Contributors are responsible for documenting and communicating their decisions & output. Updates should be shared early and often, encouraging FOODNOUNDERS and community members mentioned above to provide input given the shared vision for the FOODNOUNS ecosystem. Contributors are expected to be responsive, but are free to define the working style which lends itself to the best outcomes. The commitments will last for 3 months, or 90 days, after which point this proposal will be resubmitted to extend the working relationship.
We believe that the NounsDAO could fund this proposal, decreasing the burden of project maintenance on the FOODNOUNDERS and bolstering the FOODNOUNS community from the start with the talent it will need to maintain success. For this initial trial, compensation will be paid out via wallet transfer to each Community Contributor once per month for a total of three months. Our goal is to offer $60,000/year for these positions, adjusted as needed. Each contributor will be paid $5,000 per month, for approximately three months, or $15,000 over 91 days. Total for three contributors is $45,000 for Q1.
This program will need to grow as FOODNOUNS DAO grows. NounDAO support will be needed to launch the program and should be considered an on-going option for sustainability of the Residency Pilot Program. The mid and long term goal of the project is to have the program paid for entirely by the FOODNOUNS Treasury. The goal is to provide a robust experience for holders and all parties involved. Providing jobs is also an excellent and on-going goal of the program.
